Hailey, our first TeleCare client, texted us requesting a free ultrasound to confirm how far along she was in her pregnancy. Our compassionate nurse was ready to come alongside, listen, and answer her questions. Through the live chat, she told the nurse that she and her husband had decided the time just wasn’t right to have a baby. We immediately scheduled an appointment, and Hailey had an ultrasound.
When Hailey saw her baby on the ultrasound screen, she teared up and said, “I can’t go through with an abortion!” She left that day with the ultrasound pictures to show her husband, and two days later registered for the Parenting Program. Hailey and her husband made the decision to have their baby!
iChoose launched our TeleCare services in March. TeleCare connects women considering abortion with our nurse through text messaging and live chat communication. The advantage of this arrangement is to have clients speak directly to the nurse as soon as possible and have an ultrasound performed before an appointment is scheduled with an abortion clinic.
